What is a Bidet?

A bidet is a bowl, a receptacle, or an attachment designed for the purpose of washing the private parts, usually after using the toilette, or after using those very parts, somehow.  Bidets are designed to promote personal hygiene. In its basic form, a bidet could be a hand-held sprayer nozzle or a bowl attachment, but modern varieties may have premium features and controls, such as hot and cold water, dryer, LED lights, jet controls, and even remotes.  Bidets, in one form or another, are widely used around the world. In several European countries, a bidet is even required by law to be present in every bathroom containing a toilet bowl. In many cultures and countries, almost 80% of the world, bidets are used habitually and considered an essential and indispensable tool in maintaining good personal hygiene.
